HOW TO UNYELLOW PLASTIC

HOW TO UNYELLOW PLASTIC

I stumbled unto this while working with a friend on figuring out how to fix his hp 4250 yellowing plastics.

Note:
SAFETY WARNING!!!
You are warned that hydrogen peroxide is very nasty stuff and can cause severe chemical burns to skin and can also cause blindness if splashed into the eyes, if handled incorrectly. Usually, you can’t buy stronger than 12% over the counter, as this is the maximum strength sold to the public and is used to bleach hair. If you want to try this, I would strongly suggest that you wear goggles and gloves to protect yourself.

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
Note. You will need share name? workgroup name? Server name?
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
share name.
Goto the computer that the printer is connected to.
You find that by clicking start
selecting printers and devices
right clicking on your printer
left clicking on properties. I believe its the first properties…
once in there… select share from the tabs and you should see a long rectangular box with the share name. write it down…

Next you will need server name.
press start
in the space at the bottom of the screen to the left type cmd
a black and white screen pops up…
type ipconfig and hit enter…
this gives you your server name…
write it down…

workgroup name
here is how to find workgroup name.
In Windows 7, open the Start menu, right click on the Computer button, click on Properties, and Click/tap on either Advanced System Settings in the left column, or Change settings link for most users. the workgroup is WORKGROUP

now you have workgroup, share name and server name.

Now our next step is to add our shared windows printer to mac os x…. don’t forget workgroup, share name and server name.

ADDING SHARED PRINTER TO MAC OS X
+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Mac OS X v10.5 or later

Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu.
Choose Print & Fax from the View menu.
Click the + button to add a printer.
Press the Control key while clicking the “Default” icon (or any other icon on the toolbar), then choose Customize Toolbar from the contextual menu that appears.
Drag the Advanced (gear) icon to the toolbar.
Click Done.
Click the Advanced icon that was added to the toolbar.
Choose Windows from the Type pop-up menu.
In the URL field, type the printer’s address in one of the following formats:

smb://workgroup/server/sharename
smb://server/sharename

Note: “workgroup” is the name of the Windows workgroup that the computer sharing the printer belongs to. “server” is the name of the computer sharing the printer (or its IP address). “sharename” is the shared Windows printer’s share name. If the share name contains spaces, replace each space with “%20″ (without quotation marks).

Tip: You don’t need a “workgroup” when specifying the IP address of the computer (such as when the printer is on a different subnet), or if your Mac belongs to the same Windows (SMB) workgroup.
In the Name field, type the name you would like to use for this printer in Mac OS X.
Choose the appropriate PPD or printer driver from the “Print Using” pop-up menu.
Click Add.

Ok now lets add a shared printer in windows

UNIVERSITY OF THE PEOPLE

Yesterday, I had to sit down with a friend. He was having a hard time. He was at a turning point in his career. He is an older gentleman who has limited choices. He had long ago run out his pell grant so we explored the internet and ran into this.

Educational entrepreneur Shai Reshef launched University of the People in January 2009. Its first cohorts started studying in September 2009, when 177 students from 49 countries across the globe comprised the inaugural class of the University.

The Information Society Project at Yale Law School (Yale ISP) expanded its program in digital education by entering into a research partnership with University of the People in September 2009.

The university was announced at the UN on May 19, 2009, and was presented at the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI) in August 2010.

In June 2011, University of the People established collaboration with New York University (NYU) to identify UoPeople students who are eligible for admission to one of the most selective institutions in the world – NYU Abu Dhabi.

In August 2013, Microsoft 4Afrika announced a scholarship program to give 1,000 students from Africa scholarships to study at UoPeople, as well as access to Microsoft programs and resources.

University of the People received accreditation in February 2014, through the Distance Education and Training Council.

In May 2014, The Bayelsa State Government of Nigeria entered a partnership with University of the People in a milestone agreement, the University’s first government agreement, which will support students towards achieving Bachelor Degrees in Computer Science or Business Administration.

By May 2014, the University had accepted more than 1700 students from 143 countries.

WINDOWS XP NOT ABLE TO PING WINDOWS 7

I had an issue today where I had to get a windows xp computer to ping a windows 7 computer. The windows 7 computer just would not respond. For me the only solution was to add the following rules.

Add the following to the Windows firewall Inbound Rules:

File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request – ICMPv4-In)
File and Printer Sharing (Echo Request – ICMPv6-In)

CONSULT THE FOLLOWING ARTICLES FOR ALTERNATE APPROACHES AND IDEAS
