MAC OS X: POSTSCRIPT FLASH CARD ALTERNATIVE

MAC OS X: POSTSCRIPT FLASH CARD ALTERNATIVE

I was helping a friend this weekend with installing an older copier. The client had a mac and the mac os x demanded a postscript driver. My friend was tearing his hair out as what to do. I called my bud the one I call printer god and he told me about gutenprint. Gutenprint is basically pcl for mac os x. Its a nice cheap workaround (as in free) for the postscript issue. Don’t get me wrong postscript is nice, smooth and fast but its also expensive and typically when you use it in one machine it locks to that machine thereby giving you an error when you go to then next machine to install it. Even if it installs properly…

So we tried gutenprint and were pleasantly surprised…(gutenprint is also known as gimp print)
