RICOH COLOR COPIERS: THE BLACK AND WHITE SETUP

RICOH COLOR COPIERS: THE BLACK AND WHITE SETUP

Ricoh color copiers work great and are fairly simple to manage. Fusers are fairly cheap to rebuild and the drum units if you are so inclined can be rebuilt. The toner pumps are generic meaning that for the same model they are all the same. And as for jamming, they are fairly easy to fix… They just take a little getting used to.

Concerning printing and color. For simple programs, you can do a simple change in the preferences and reboot your pc and you are good to go. Here is the kicker. Some programs are so powerful that they actually reset this preferences setting every time you try to print.

The only way around this is to get a black and white print driver from a black and white machine in the same range. This way you are guaranteed to have the black and white setting. This does not always play nicely with user codes but atleast you now know.

Lets say its a ricoh mpc 4000 then I look for a ricoh mp 4000 or the closest match and try that… this typically works…

It won’t destroy your copier if you are worried about that… so go on give it a go…
