KM 4050: WINDOWS 7 SCAN PROBLEM ERROR 2101

OK… I had an issue today… I sat down to work on a km 4050 that just stopped scanning…

I turned off the firewall… issue remained…
I removed expired norton antivirus… issue remained…
I logged out of machine and tried to login as the user account the scanner uses… I found that wouldn’t work… so I logged back in as regular admin and changed password of scanner user account… tested machine… issue remained…

I went into windows and turned off homegroups… tested machine…. issue remained…
I went into the adapter and set netbios to do tcp over ip… issue remained…
I changed network from public to home… issue remained…

I killed all processes in the tray… issue remained…
Finally, I checked to verify that ip settings for the copier were good… they were…
I then decided to check the ports… normally scanning uses 139… I changed it to 445… issue solved…

host name xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:445

After grilling the customer, I found out that the pc had tried to upgrade itself and she unplugged it…

I then checked on another computer that had been upgraded to windows 10 and found the port had also been changed to 445.
