CONNECT MAC OS X LION (10.7) TO SMB SHARE






Your steps…

create a folder

from terminal link

from finder link

link the folder to the smb share by either

(if there is a password then you use the format user:password)

mount -t smbfs //user@servername/share /Volumes/share

or

mount_smbfs //user@servername/share /Volumes/share

where “servername” is the NetBIOS name of the server (an IP address may also be substituted), “user” is a valid user on that server, and “share” is the name of the share you wish to mount locally (you’ll most likely have to create the /Volumes/share directory)

then have the drives automount by doing the following:

dragging the drives form the finder  sidebar into Login Items in the System Prefs/Accounts pane.
