WRONG DATE ON PDF FILES CREATED ON PC

WRONG DATE ON PDF FILES CREATED ON PC

Here is how I would troubleshoot this…

1. check if you have copier creating pdf files from scanning

2. if so then check date on the copier…

3. check if the date is correct that you put in or if its a timeserver that is being connected to…

4. verify the date is ok by printing internal reports from copier

5. correct as needed by changing timeserver or correcting date setting in copier or updating firmware…

Now lets say the copier is ok… lets see if error travels… or if its local to a machine…

1. scan to another computer and see if issue travels…

2. if issue does not travel then its a problem on the machine where issue originally detected

3. if issue travels then its an issue on the network or on a shared folder…

4. if issue travels check dates on servers, routers, shared folder servers, date in bios of servers, routers, shared folder servers, its hunting time…

5. if issue does not travel and you can isolate it to a machine…

6. check dates in bios and check dates in windows… check if issue changes with time servers…

7. check if it occurs with all programs or some programs

8. check the user forums for those programs… these may have work arounds for this issue

9. try older versions of these programs

10. check if windows updates can cause this issue… try rolling back or if possible try reinstalling os no updates installed and see if issue continues…

11. if you reinstall os… try installing software that created error and see if issue remains… if issue remains… then its the software you are using… if issue does not remain then its either windows updates or conflicting software…

12. if issue does not remain then add windows update and see if issue remains… if its ok good… if not continue…

13. if issue does not remain start adding old software to system and check to see if issue returns… check at each step…

14. if issue does not return then it could be an update to a software added to the machine created a conflict… this might cause an initial solution to result in a returned problem a couple of weeks later… after update automatically drops in… so if all is solved you may have to turn off all updates save to antivirus suite and if issue returns then its probably an antivirus suite issue at that point…
