I have malware that closes malwarebytes and kills its installation

If you download torrents at work… please stop…
a new interesting side effect of doing this in recent days is a malware popup that displays inappropriate ads…
and yes this is true…
it kills the web search for malwarebytes and other malware removers by closing the browser…
and it will even kill the install of malwarebytes and other malware removers if you move it across via the thumb drive…

what you are going to have to do is the following…

install all (1-4) via thumb drive…
( meaning… download with another pc… and then move to thumb drive and then move to new pc and install)
1. grab zone alarm free edition and run that first…
2. then install and run adwcleaner
3. then install and run malwarebytes
4. turn on windows defender

then do steps 1-4 again
then install anti-rootkit beta and run it…

then run windows defender…

at this point… you should have gotten rid of the annoying if not x-rated popups…

at that point my advice is to always use protection…
and take steps to
1. remove and clean your data…
2. reinstall your operating system…
3. acquire a cheap pc for home use or use a home pc solely for your internet escapades…
doing that with a work computer could get you fired… or worse…

and to add insult to injury…
do yourself a favor and wipe the thumb drive used for transfers or throw it away…
to keep the computer you downloaded the antimalware software from safe…
and to prevent accidental reinfection of cleaned computer…
just in case… the malware has figured out how to cross the air gap…
