Possible causes and solutions to slow printing
In no particular order…

corrupt print driver
uninstall reboot and reinstall print driver…

print driver not set to spool
correct in print driver…

try disabling antivirus and firewall… stranger things have happened…

congestion on/or failing print server…

managed switch port needs to be reset… or different port needs to be used…

print driver is on printer server which is on a wan or located remotely or located on terminal server… meaning cross country… best bet is to setup a local print driver…

problems with software… check to see if other software on pc have issues…

bad ram in computer… replace ram… create network with your laptop and test…

bad network components… create network with your laptop and printer and test…

different print drivers offer different performance…

if your print driver has gdi option… this could be an option… it uses pc as brain and uses printer as slave… less load faster printing…

too many programs open on computer…

computer has virus…

computer has corrupt hard driver

computer hard driver is full or near full

program on computer is slowing it down say… quickbooks…

corrupt print spooler
follow the bouncing ball

print driver is connected to print driver via wsd instead if via ip address
change port to ip address…

tray sized wrong
one or both of your guides are sized too large…
correct by hand

papertype for your trays is wrong
correct papertype by hand
this could be thick instead of plain…

Rollers are worn too smooth
replace rollers…

broken paperfeed section
replace paperfeed section…

bad motors or clutches
replace motors or clutches…

bad ram in printer

bad print board, formatter, main board etc…
replace board…

fuser set for envelopes…

printer has gone into safe mode after recovering from an error…

low toner… machine is conserving toner…
