BASIC XEROX PHASER TROUBLESHOOTING FOR XEROX REBOOT ISSUE

THE XEROX PHASER MUST BE CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK VIA THE ETHERNET CABLE OR VIA THE USB TO A PC BEFORE YOU START IT UP.

IF THE PRINTER CAN’T “SEE” THE NETWORK OR PC VIA THE ETHERNET OR USB CONNECTIONS WHEN YOU SWITCH IT ON, THE MENU WILL DISPLAY “WARMING UP”CONTINUOUSLY”.WHEN THIS HAPPENS, SWITCH THE PRINTER OFF AND MAKE SURE THE ETHERNET OR USB CONNECTIONS ARE CONNECTED PROPERLY BEFORE SWITCHING IT BACK ON.
(TRY NVRAM RESET)

NOTE:
THE XEROX MACHINES REBOOT ISSUE CAN OCCUR FOR ANY REASON. ITS NOT A POWER ISSUE BY DEFAULT… ITS A DEFAULT ACTION… THE MACHINE IS MEANT TO BE USER FRIENDLY MEANING USERS CAN TAKE OUT MOST OF THE PARTS… WITHOUT WORRY OF OVERLY COMPLICATED MECHANISMS… SO TRY THIS FIRST… PULL OUT YOUR TRAYS… SEE IF THERE IS ANY PAPER STUCK IN THE MACHINE… PULL OUT THE TONER… SEE IF THERE IS ANY PAPER STUCK THERE… PULL OUT THE FUSER… USUALLY FOUR SCREWS AND TWO GREEN HANDLES THAT LOCK IT IN… SEE IF ANY PAPER IS STUCK IN IT… IF NOTHING THEN TRY THE FOLLOWING

ANOTHER POINT
PRINT DRIVER ISSUES CAN TRIGGER THE REBOOT ISSUE
MEANING THERE ARE COMPATIBILITY ISSUES WITH THE PRINT DRIVER.
MEANING THAT IF (NVRAM RESET) WORKS THEN PUTTING IT ON THE NETWORK AND TRYING A PRINT JOB CAUSES REOCCURENCE THEN ISSUE IS PRINT DRIVER COMPATIBILITY WHICH MIGHT MEAN CLEARING PRINT QUE, INSTALLING FIRMWARE AND RESTARTING PRINTER…

TRY THIS OPTION
PLUG PRINTER IN BY ITSELF IN THE POWER OUTLET… OR MOVE TO ANOTHER OUTLET…
CHECK THE POWER SOURCE OR OUTLET WHERE PRINTER IS PLUGGED IN – IF THERE ARE A LOT OF ITEMS PLUGGED IN ON THE SAME CIRCUIT THE PRINTER SOMETIMES MESSES UP DUE TO POWER FLUCTUATIONS.

TRY THIS OPTION (NVRAM RESET)

PRESS AND HOLD THE ‘BACK BUTTON’ AND ‘ ‘INFO BUTTON’ WHILST TURNING ON YOUR PRINTER.
THIS WILL PUT YOU INTO DIAGNOSTICS. SCROLL DOWN TO ‘NVRAM ACCESS’ AND SELECT. FROM THERE, SELECT ‘RESET TECH REP FAULTS’. RESET ALL THREE LINES BY HIGHLIGHTING AND PRESSING THE ‘OK’ BUTTON.
YOU WILL RETURN TO THE PREVIOUS SCREEN, SO SELECT ‘RESET TECH REP FAULTS’ AGAIN, SCROLL DOWN TO THE NEXT SET OF CODES, PRESS ‘OK’ AGAIN AND SO ON. ONCE ALL THREE HAVE BEEN RESET, PRESS THE ‘BACK’ BUTTON TO GO BACK TO NVRAM ACCESS, SCROLL DOWN TO ‘EXIT’ AND PRESS ‘OK’. MACHINE WILL NOW REBOOT.

TRY THIS OPTION

PLUG YOUR PRINTER INTO THE NETWORK AND USING THE OLD SETTINGS FOR THE IP ADDRESS FOR THE PRINTER TRY THE FOLLOWING…
TO FIND THE IP ADDRESS GO TO PRINTER..PRINTER PROPERTIES… PORTS AND EDIT THE PORT CHECKED…
ONCE OBTAINED GO INTO THE BROWSER AND TYPE IN THE IP ADDRESS IF YOUR PRINTER IS REACHABLE THEN A WEB INTERFACE FOR THE PRINTER SHOULD POP UP… ITS CALLED CENTREWARE… USE IT TO DOWNLOAD THIS LINK

TO USE CENTREWARE FOLLOW THIS TUTORIAL

THERE IS A SNIPPET ON THE XEROX WEBSITE TO SOLVE IMAGING UNIT RECOGNITION PROBLEMS. USUALLY THIS PROBLEM ONLY OCCURS IF THE NVRAM HAS BEEN RESET OR THE ENGINE BOARD HAS BEEN REPLACED WITHOUT BACKING UP THE NVRAM. YOU CAN DOWNLOAD THE SNIPPET TO YOUR PRINTER THROUGH CENTREWARE OR BY DOWNLOADING THE ‘FILE DOWNLOADER’ UTILITY FROM THE SAME PAGE ABOVE.
