ZERO CROSS ERROR TROUBLESHOOTING

Zero Cross Error: this means that the copier or printer does not detect the ac power signal crossing zero within a certain time frame. This can be caused by a power failure, or component failure…

The first thing to do is to try and reset the code… ( hoping its a power failure… )

If that does not work then check your service logs and see what was last worked on… (and check that component)

failing that try to isolate… disconnect all components from the machine… finisher… adf… high capacity tray and then reboot… if machine comes up fine then you need to figure out which of the disconnected components is bad…

if that doesn’t work then check your fuser for a blown fuse…

if that fails check your low voltage power supply for a blown fuse…

failing that… check your power test points… via schematic… see which one fails… if you have reached this point a board is usually fried…
