GENERIC STEPS TO TAKE WHEN SCAN TO EMAIL STOPS WORKING




1.  if  error code occurs when sending email from copier.

2.  check manual for meaning of error code.

3.  check with customer to see if they have disabled sending email account, changed password for email account or email account is full…

4.  if problem remains… ping smtp server… if smtp server is ok… then check dns server settings on copier… if dns server settings are not ok… record all copier IP Addresses and do a dhcp reboot… this will allow the copier to fix its network settings…

5.  if problem remains and you are unable to ping smtp server from inside the network… try pinging the smtp server from an online ping resource if you can ping from online but not from inside network then follow the steps in 4… if still unable to scan then customer has a serious network setting problem… refer customer to their own IT Technician.
