HOW TO PULL THE SERIAL NUMBER OF A USB PRINTER WHEN NOTHING ELSE WORKS

I ran into an issue where I was unable to pull the serial number of a usb printer with the utilities that came with it… and I needed the serial for a return authorization… I did a search and found a useful utility at NView… called USBDeview

Steps….

1. download usbdeview
2. unpack to a folder
3. make sure your usb printer is connected and turned on…
4. run usbdeview.exe
5. look for usb printing support…
6. unplug printer and hit refresh to verify thats your usb printer
7. connected should switch from yes to no…
8. plug your printer in and hit refresh…
9. connected should switch form no to yes
10. doubleclick on that line and voila… there is your serial number…
